To apply more force into the adjusting sleeve, the use of a vise is suggested. To do this, the drill bit in the chuck has to be securely clamped inside. Next, using a light hammer, then it is required to gently tap the adjustment sleeve of the throw in a circle.

After the cartridge case has yielded, it should be turned with a pipe wrench. If the attempt is unsuccessful, the job ought to be replicated, raising the pressure of the blow. It is better to work with a bronze hammer for this procedure so the top layer of the cartridge receives more damage.

If it is crucial to change a drill bit that has fallen into disrepair, or in case a change in the character of the work demands a different individual, the process is even simpler than if setting the drill bit.
